Main Deck Baggage System Integration on McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30
Jetaire integrated a Class D Main Deck Baggage System
into a McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30. The ball mat floor
bulk stowage compartment system was designed to replace
50 aft passenger seats and load through Door 4L. The
modification removed passenger seating, the G6 aft galley,
and overhead stowage and relocated the aft attendant
station. Jetaire designed cover plates, disconnect brackets
and patch cables, bulkheads, ceiling panels, closeouts,
trim, and other interior integration components. Jetaire
also created installation instructions and interface
drawings to MDC specifications that deactivated systems,
modified the passenger and attendant utilities, and
updated the exit path marking system. Due to relocation
of emergency systems, certification documentation for
the engineering design was extensive. Test and maintenance
procedures were generated for MDC, along with weight
and balance and electrical load analysis recalculations
for the DC-10-30 aircraft.
