Production Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing manufacturing staff, maintaining work flow, ensuring equipment operation, maintaining safe and clean work environment, and resolving personnel problems. Candidates should have 8+ years of manufacturing experience, with aerospace and defense experience preferred, and 3+ years of experience using Lean Manufacturing Principles. A working knowledge of Quantum Control Software is a plus. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, ethical standards, and the ability to adapt to change are essential. The ideal candidate should also be Six Sigma Lean certified and proficient in MRP/ERP, Microsoft Office, and effective communication.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.

  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) and organization’s standards.

  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.

  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.

  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

  • Maintains inventory of both material that needs to be ordered as well as completed manufactured products.   

  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of manufacturing experience, with Aerospace and Defense experience preferred 

  • 3+ years of experience using Lean Manufacturing Principles

  • Working knowledge of Quantum Control Software a plus.

  • High ethical standards. Models and supports organization’s goals and values; adapts to changing conditions; demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of media

  • Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write clearly and informatively routine reports, correspondence, and designs workflows and procedures. Presents numerical data effectively.

  • Advanced knowledge of MRP / ERP, Access, Word, Excel, Power Point, and other applicable tools.

  • Six Sigma Lean certified.

  • 100% COVID 19 vaccinated required.
