Director of Operations

Jetaire Group is seeking a hands-on operations leader to drive focused Lean Six Sigma initiatives at the Fayetteville GA manufacturing facility based on the strategic priorities and needs of the company. The Director of Operations will manage overall manufacturing activity including engineering, production goals, and management of exempt and nonexempt associates involved in production, assembly, subassembly or fabrication operations.

This hands-on individual will have value stream management responsibilities, analyze business metrics / trends and drive people and process improvements. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Promote effective communication between Engineering, Operations, Program Management and Business Development.

  • Proactively evaluate and ensure all federal, state, and corporate compliance, including but not limited to and FAA.

  • Provide value stream strategic and tactical leadership.

  • Develop and execute integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals and objectives.

  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Develop and utilize cascading metrics to assure daily achievement of operations Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost expectations at every level.

  • Coordinate production activities with other functions such as materials, marketing, new product development, customer service, manufacturing engineering, quality inspection, among others.

  • Mentor, coach and train others in applying LEAN manufacturing concepts to promote continuous improvement initiatives in process and program execution.

  • Direct the planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls to guarantee financial operating integrity.

  • Manage capital expenditure plans in support of program objectives and continuous improvement.

  • Perform reviews and analysis of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives to present to senior management.

  • Ensure customers' needs are met and maintain/improve relationships and with stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

  • Participate in Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities.

Qualifications / Competencies

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related technical / management field preferred

  • 8+ years of manufacturing experience, with Aerospace and Defense experience preferred

  • 3+ years of experience using Lean Manufacturing Principles

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of media

  • Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write clearly and informatively routine reports, correspondence, and designs work flows and procedures. Presents numerical data effectively.

  • Advanced knowledge of MRP / ERP, Access, Word, Excel, Power Point, and other applicable tools.
